The scope of practice for pharmacists is changing across the country to include a greater range of activities and services performed by licensed pharmacists. One such activity is the administration of drugs, including multiple routes, both parenteral and non parenteral.
NAPRA’s Supplemental Competencies on Injection for Canadian Pharmacists include support for the adoption of the Immunization Competencies for Health Professionals published by the Public Health Agency of Canada, and supplemental competencies to specifically address injection of other substances.
