The National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) is a not-for-profit association that serves an alliance of provincial and territorial pharmacy regulatory bodies as well as the Canadian Forces Health Services. NAPRA’s members regulate the practice of pharmacy and the operation of pharmacies in their respective jurisdictions in Canada and their primary mandate is to serve and protect the public.
Governing NAPRA is a Board of Directors consisting of a Director from each pharmacy regulatory authority in Canada (i.e., the Registrars) and up to three additional non-Registrar Directors bringing unique perspectives, for a total of 17 Board Directors. The Board is responsible for providing leadership and overseeing the activities and affairs of the organization. Day-to-day operations are led by NAPRA’s Executive Director. The Board is accountable to the organization’s members.
Recruitment
The NAPRA Board is looking to recruit two (2) Directors for its Board, including one with expertise as a pharmacy technician in the Canadian healthcare system.
To be considered for appointment to the NAPRA Board, candidates must not be currently employed by, nor serving on the Board of, any NAPRA member organization (Canadian pharmacy regulatory authority).

While these are areas of primary interest, NAPRA is also keen to receive applications from individuals with different sets of expertise and experience who feel they can make a valuable contribution.
Board Terms / Participation
- Non-Registrar Directors serve an initial two-year term and are eligible for reappointment, annually, to a maximum of six consecutive years of service.
