This document presents professional competencies for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians at entry to practice in Canada (ETP competencies). The ETP competencies have been updated to better reflect the professional knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes, and judgments required for safe and ethical practice by entry-level pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in today’s environment and for at least the next six years.
The document should not be applied in isolation but is expected to be applied in the context of the overall practice environment, as evidenced through national model standards as well as provincial/territorial scope of practice, standards of practice, guidance documents, and other requirements in that particular jurisdiction and practice environment.
