NAPRA Annual Report 2025

The National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) is pleased to announce the publication of the NAPRA Annual Report 2025.

The report highlights meaningful progress made over the second year of implementation of NAPRA’s 2024-2028 Strategic Plan, a five-year plan developed to align with the organization’s renewed vision of Pharmacy regulatory excellence.

Significant activities undertaken in 2025 include:

  • Completing research on models for licensure and labour mobility nationally and internationally.
  • Facilitating discussions to inform NAPRA Members’ work as they continue to explore role definitions for pharmacy professionals.
  • Engaging with interested parties at the federal, national, pan-Canadian, and international levels on behalf of NAPRA Members.
  • Progressing NAPRA’s work on its updated suite of model documents for PRA use on non-sterile and sterile compounding standards.
  • Coordinating a community of practice for PRAs across Canada to address common issues and share knowledge and experiences relevant to pharmacy regulation, including hosting 13 PRA Roundtables and several information-sharing sessions related to NAPRA’s compounding documents, quality assurance, emerging technologies, registration and licensure, and cross-jurisdictional issues.
  • Maintaining the National Drug Schedules (NDS), including regular updates to the NDS listings and review of two drug scheduling submissions by the National Drug Scheduling Advisory Committee (NDSAC).
  • Advancing work on the NDS Modernization Project.
  • Managing Pharmacists’ Gateway Canada, which has registered a total of 37,217 international pharmacy graduates since its establishment in 2014.
